Every child at Centennial benefits from an enhanced educational experience provided by our PTA programs. Your financial and volunteer support ensures the success of these programs.

 

How does our PTA help educate our children? We:

 

Promote interest in reading, literacy, and creative writing-
Author visits, Bluebonnet  and Texas 2X2 Program, Book Fairs, student book publishing, and additional books for Centennial's library

 

Provide tools to support the learning process-
Student agendas, Kindergarten Centers, grade-level field trips

 

Promote exposure to the Arts-
Reflections, symphony/opera visits, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade music programs

 

Provide programs to enhance understanding of science and history-
Science Fair and Texas Day

 

Support Physical Education-
Field Day, PE/recess equipment

 

Provide after-school enrichment programs-
Chess, Drama Kids and CraniaLogix

 

Encourage community spirit and interaction-
Fall and Spring Picnics, Spiritwear, class parties, Welcome Coffee, Community Outreach, Giving Tree, Partnerships

 

Provide school support and show staff appreciation-
Building and landscape improvements, staff luncheons and birthday recognition, Wish List

 

Promote health and safety of our children-
Red Ribbon Week

 

Encourage communication among the Centennial community-
Weekly electronic PTA newsletters, website, school directory, provide substitute teachers during Spring Parent-Teacher Conference for 3rd-5th grade parents

 

Provide a variety of means to fund these programs-
Write-a-Check, Book Fairs, and Box Tops
