College & Career Week is Next Week
Ever heard a student whine “How will I ever use this in the real world?†Let’s show them, by creating a “Career Day,†in which we help students get EXCITED about what they are learning and how relates to real-life job opportunities and a rewarding FUTURE! âï¸ We are looking for a variety of speakers to come present to our students about their career and educational journey. College and Career Week will take place from January 14th - January 18th, and there are a variety of days and times available for presentations. Presentations should last 15 minutes and should focus on age appropriate information about your career! Parents, as well as students, are encouraged to participate! Last year's multicultural night was a huge success! Don't miss this opportunity to share your unique heritage with the rest of the Centennial community. |
Science Fair Information
The Science Fair is right around the corner! We want to encourage interested students to take advantage of this exciting opportunity – this event is also part of this year’s Try-Athlon! Science Fair projects are due on Wednesday, January 23rd. The campus science fair judging will be on Thursday January 24th.
We are still in need of judges, so if you or someone you know is interested in becoming a judge, please return the judging form. Judging will take place on Thursday Jan 24th from 8am to 12pm, with training provided that morning. Thank you in advance.
SCIENCE FAIR HELPFUL TIPS #3 As you're preparing to put your display together, remember to follow the display rules very carefully in your student handbook. Make sure your board follows the size requirements (not to exceed 30 inches deep, 32 inches wide when opened on the table, and 80 inches high from table to top of exhibit), does not consist of any personal information on the board or in the journals/reports, and uses photographs and drawings instead of actual objects or apparatuses. The actual display should include the backboard, the research report, and the science project notebook. The judges look very carefully and critically at the notebook and research report, so make sure you are taking thorough notes!
