Dear Centennial Families, 

Due to the impending forecast for Friday, the PTA and school staff have decided to reschedule the Color Run and Picnic to Monday, November 7th.  In addition to the weather, daylight savings time will take effect this weekend.  It is because of this, that we must also change the time of the Color Run and Picnic. 

Color Run:

The new time for the Color Run will be 3:30-4:30pm on Monday, November 7th.  Volunteers will be available starting at 3:10pm for lap card pick up. Remember, you do not have to arrive at 3:30pm, you can run anytime between 3:30-4:30pm.  PTA will send home Color Run t-shirts TODAY, Thursday, November 3rd with students in their backpacks. Students are invited to wear their best Color Run outfit/Crazy Hair on Monday, November 7th.

Picnic:

The Picnic portion of the evening will be from 4:30-5:30pm. The IN-N-OUT food truck will be available from 4:00-5:30pm.

PASAR:

For parents whose children are in PASAR after school, PASAR will still be open. Students will not be able to leave PASAR to participate in the Color Run without being picked up from PASAR first. Please email the PASAR site manager, Lulav Saleem, at Lulav.saleem@Pisd.edu for questions or alternate arrangements. If you want to change your child’s dismissal for Monday from PASAR to another option, please make sure to contact Melody.Michael@pisd.edu before 2pm on Monday, November 7th. 

We understand that due to the change of date and time, it may not be possible for some families to attend on Monday.  Please know that there are many moving parts to these events, including vendors, food trucks, volunteers, and more! The Color Run/Picnic is our PTA’s largest fundraiser of the year.

These funds go to support many of the programs that enrich the elementary experience for all students at Centennial. The PTA will receive approximately $1905.00 from the IN-N-OUT truck alone! You are still welcome to donate flat rate donations to the Color Run, even if you are unable to attend.

We are excited to announce Toni Simmons, award winning storyteller and author, will be at Centennial Elementary on November 30th! She will be making presentations and reciting multicultural folktales from around the world to our students. Donate your gently used clothes, shoes, and other items to the blue bin located in the Centennial parking lot.  For all items donated Centennial will receive a portion of the money back to the school.
