UPDATED GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOLWIDE EVENTS, ACTIVITIES AND PTA

Due to rising COVID related case numbers in our community, the district has updated the guidelines for schoolwide events and activities to protect the health and wellbeing of Plano ISD students and staff. These revised guidelines will be in place through February 4, 2022, and will be reevaluated at that time.

UPDATES INCLUDE:

- All Plano ISD schools are prohibited from planning large attendance indoor events.

- Parent meetings and conferences will be held virtually through February 4.

- School volunteers will not be allowed which includes Workroom, Library, and Watch Dogs through February 4 and then will be re-evaluated.

- No cafeteria visitors will be permitted on campuses through February 4.

- Out-of-district field trips will be postponed and rescheduled for a later date.

Centennial Comet Spring Silent Auction will be April 4-14th! We need auction items!! Do you have some great auction items you could donate? Do you have a contact who would be interested in donating? SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED

The district is short staffed for substitute teachers. If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher please click here to learn more and submit your application. Once you've submitted your application please let Mrs. Stewart know so she can follow-up on the application.

This year's Science Fair is shaping up to be a great one, with loads of participation from Comets of all ages! In order to make the Science and Engineering Fair successful and rewarding for the students, we need MANY judges.

The Centennial Science & Engineering Fair will be held on January 19th, from 8 am to 2:45 pm. If you are available to judge student submissions, please complete this INTEREST FORMas soon as possible.

READING PROGRAMS OPEN TO ALL GRADES!

Each year the Centennial Library & PTA partner for end-of-year celebrations for students who have worked throughout the year to complete statewide reading programs:
-Texas 2x2 (Grades K-2)
-Texas Bluebonnet (Grades 3-5)
-Little Maverick (All grades)
-40 Book Challenge (All grades)

Students receive medals, prizes and the newest award-winning books. With holiday breaks approaching, it's a great time to set reading goals. Note that the school library and all Plano libraries have special sections to make finding these award-winning books easy.

To participate, download and print the form for your grade level from the Centennial PTA Membership Toolkit Reading Programs page. Each form requires a short synopsis and parent initials. Students can participate in all programs for which they are eligible.
