Dear Centennial Staff, Parents and PTA,

Each year our school community comes together to provide for families in need. As in the past, our PTA will be providing basic needs and a few gifts for these families to be able to have gifts during the holiday season. This year, to better streamline our process, PTA will be collecting funds and will go out and purchase the needed gifts themselves.
Please feel free to donate as you are so inclined and your budget allows.

The deadline for giving 💰 is December 10th.
There are three ways to help with this endeavor:
1. Send via Venmo to @Mandi-Shows or via PayPal to MandiWeare@hotmail.com with the subject "Comet Family/winter wishes"
2. Purchase a Visa, Walmart or Target gift card and drop it off in an envelope labeled “Winter Wishes” in the PTA mailbox in the front office.
3. Purchase a gift card and drop it off to me or leave it out and text or email me to pick it up. I will be happy to do so: outreach@centennialpta.net

Hello Centennial Families! 

The district is now allowing parents to eat lunch with their students on campus.

The district has established some guidelines that include:

•  Non-school age siblings are not allowed 
• Parents may only eat with their child.  Their child is not allowed to invite a friend to eat with them. 
• Parents may not sit with their child's class

The district has provided the following guidance to campuses:

• Limit the number of days that parents are invited to eat lunch with their child
• Limit the amount of parent lunch visitors based on the availability of space at the campus campus 
• Close lunch access to parents depending on the Campus Level of operation based on District Covid guidelines   

To accommodate our parents who wish to come on campus and eat with their child while also following the district guidelines and guidance, we've established a sign up for the month of December. After December, we will reevaluate this process and publish plans for second semester.

Students have early release at noon next Friday, 12/17.  There is no school from Monday, 12/20- Tuesday, 1/4.  Enjoy your holiday break!    

Each year the Centennial Library & PTA partner for end-of-year celebrations for students who have worked throughout the year to complete statewide reading programs:
-Texas 2x2 (Grades K-2)
-Texas Bluebonnet (Grades 3-5)
-Little Maverick (All grades)
-40 Book Challenge (All grades)

Students receive medals, prizes and the newest award-winning books. With holiday breaks approaching, it's a great time to set reading goals. Note that the school library and all Plano libraries have special sections to make finding these award-winning books easy.

To participate, download and print the form for your grade level from the Centennial PTA Membership Toolkit Reading Programs page. Each form requires a short synopsis and parent initials. Students can participate in all programs for which they are eligible.
