Congratulations to Krithika Shankarasubramanian!
Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Krithika Shankarasubramanian! Krithika has been a part of the Centennial family since 2014. She has two daughters in school: Laya in 4th grade and Meenu in 2nd grade. She loves Centennial and says the “whole school is my favorite.†Krithika’s favorite time at Centennial was when she had the opportunity to demonstrate the Classical Dance - Bharatanatyam to the children. Thank you for your time Krithika! #DifferenceMaker

Valentines Drive ENDS TOMORROW TOO! Centennial PTA is collecting Valentines cards and bags of Valentine’s candy for PISD students in need. Next time you are at the store pick up an extra box of Valentines or a bag of valentines candy and have your student drop in the collection boxes. The Valentines Drive runs now through February 8! |
Don’t miss out! Centennial is again participating in a writing program through a company called Studentreasures Publishing. All of our students get to become published authors! These books are a true family keepsake. Your PTA will provide the publishing kits with the manuscript pages. Every manuscript turned in will be published into a hardbound book! The PTA will fund the first copy of the book just for you! Additional copies of your student’s book can be purchased for $19.95. If your student would like to participate, please print and fill out the form HERE and return back to their teacher by Tuesday, February 12th. Questions? Valentine's Class Parties will be held on Thursday, February 14th, 2019. Please see Grade level party times below: Kindergarten 1:00-1:30 First Grade 1:45-2:15 Second Grade 1:15-1:45 Third Grade 1:15-1:45 Fourth Grade 1:00-1:30 Fifth Grade 1:45-2:15 Parents are welcome to attend and observe the party, but only those who have security clearance may volunteer to help with the student activities. If you plan to attend and observe the party, we ask that you RSVP by noon on Wednesday, February 13th so that we can have your security badge pre-printed. RSVP HERE. If you plan to volunteer at a party, please sign-up at the VOLUNTEER FORM by noon on Wednesday, February 13th. *Please only RSVP once *All visitors and volunteers must bring a government issued ID (drivers license or passport) when visiting Centennial regardless of RSVP.  Giddy UP, It's TEXAS DAY!
Texas Day is Thursday, February 28th. The day is filled with activities, games and special guests to teach our children about the great state of Texas. This is a uniquely "Centennial" experience you won't want to miss! It takes lots of cowboys and cowgirls to pull off such a memorable event for our students! Stay tuned for fun volunteer opportunities including Cowboy Carpool, grade-level classroom crafts and decorating /set-up. The Kindergarten Pony Production will take place the week of February 12th. Comet Campaign is coming! Comet Campaign is an opportunity for parents and community members to make financial donations directly to Centennial PTA. No donation is too large or too small!
This year's Comet Campaign will run from Monday, 2/18/18 through Friday, 3/1/18. More information will be sent home with your student next Wednesday - make sure you look for the flyer in their backpack! |
