As you know, field day is coming up on Monday, May 23^rd with a rain make up day for Tuesday, May 24th.  Here are a couple of things to keep in mind for your child(ren).

• Sunscreen - please make sure your child has on sunscreen before they come to school.  TEACHERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO APLLY SUNSCREEN TO THE STUDENTS.  If you must send it with them, for them to apply themselves, it needs to be the lotion...no aerosol. 
• Shoes - make sure that your students are wearing tennis shoes.  With some of the activities and the water it is not safe for them to be in crocs or flip flops.
• Water games - there is a chance that your child will get wet during field day.  Please send them with a change of clothes.  Especially K-2^nd  students who have field day in the morning. We wouldn't want to have them sitting around wet for the rest of the day.  3rd-5^th students who are walker, bus or carpool don't have to change if they are going straight home. Don’t forget to include a change of shoes.
• Swimsuits – it is okay if a student wants to wear a swimsuit UNDER their shorts and t-shirt. Swimsuits alone do not follow dress code policies.  Shirts must be worn at all times.
• Attire – each grade level will wear their field trip shirt from this year.  If they don’t have a field trip shirt please just send them in the color shirt that corresponds with their grade level.
  • Kindergarten – Red
  • First – Orange
  • Second – Yellow
  • Third – Green
  • Fourth – Purple
  • Fifth – Light Blue

Plano West will be hosting 2 tennis camps this summer, and we’d love to have your children involved. 

• Our first camp is May 30 – June 3
• Our second camp is July 18 – 22
• Each camp will run Monday-Friday from 8am-11am
• The cost for the camp is $250 and includes a camp T-shirt
