Publishing Kits Are HERE!

Students who participated in the PTA publishing kit program will be bringing their bound books home from school this week! Each student will receive a hardbound manuscript of their book, In addition to any extra hardbound copies ordered and paid for by parents.

In addition, due to an error at the publishing company, each student will come home with a free soft cover version of their published book! 

We know you will all treasure these special books for years to come!

Fitness….Field Day is

Friday, May 25th!

May 25th is Field Day!  You will not want to miss out on this wonderful day to volunteer at Centennial.  There are many volunteer positions available for that day.  Please select the shift(s) that fit(s) your schedule.  Please do not sign up for a shift unless you can be there for the entire time (8:30-11:00 for grades K-2 and 12:00-2:20 for grades 3-5).

Please review these important notes for ALL Field Day volunteers:

• All volunteers will be assigned to specific stations.  You will be assigned your stations and be given details about working that station prior to May 25.
• Volunteers will be assigned on a first to sign up, first to be assigned basis.  Once the positions are filled, we will indicate that on this site.
• Unfortunately, you CANNOT show up and volunteer on Field Day if you have not signed up to volunteer through this site. 
• Each volunteer will have a specific duty for their shift.  It is important to stay at that station for the entire shift, assist all students that come through the station.
• You will not be following your student(s) from station to station.
• Please make sure that you are cleared as a PISD volunteer.  If you are not sure if you are an approved volunteer, please check the volunteer computer in the front office.  If you are not in the database, you are NOT cleared to volunteer.  Volunteers without appropriate badges will not be allowed on the field for safety reasons.   See VOLUNTEER APPLICATION process for more details.

Congratulations to ALL the Centennial students who've completed:

• 40 Book Challenge
• Little Maverick Reading Program
• Texas Bluebonnet Reading Program
• Texas 2x2 Reading Program

Awards will be presented to students on Wednesday, May 30th, in the Library. Exact time for ceremony will be announced soon.  Stay tuned!

5th Grade Graduation Celebration Ceremony

 We are pleased to announce the 5th Grade Graduation Celebration Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 31 2018 at Centennial (students arrive at 5:30pm, program starts at 6:00pm). Your child's invitation is coming home with them this week!

It is a tradition at Centennial that the 4th grade class provides refreshments for the 5th grade graduation ceremony. If you are interested in contributing cookies or bottled water, please sign up on HERE. Refreshments should be delivered to the school on May 30th or 31st. Thanks in advance for your generosity!!

Do you have receipts that you still haven't turned into our PTA Treasurer? Don’t forget to turn them in as soon as you dig them out of your purse or find them in the kitchen junk drawer!!

BOGO Book Fair

May 22-24

Centennial is having a Summer BOGO Book Fair for all of our students!! Buy one book, get a second book (equal or lessor value) FREE! Stock up for summer reading. Books ONLY!  There will not be a set time for class previews or class purchases.  If you would like your student to purchase any of these awesome books for summer reading please send them with money and our amazing volunteers with help them with their purchase. 

Centennial PTA Helping Others

Centennial PTA Outreach provided breakfast to the staff at our sister school, Mendenhall Elementary, in honor of Teacher Appreciation week.  We would like to thank ALL teachers in our district!  PISD teachers and staff are awesome!
